This three day course is designed to lead students in a logical progression through the steps and knowledge necessary to carry out an IFR flight. It is intended to help students prepare for the IFR INRAT exam and show pilots the practical world of instrument flying. This course provides a solid foundation in all the practical and theoretical aspects of IFR flight. The course is further enhanced by our instructors actual IFR experiences.

- Basic Met theory and practical Met including aviation forecasts, reports and charts

New Online IFR Procedures Course
NOW included with AeroCourse IFR Seminars is the
IFR Procedures Course to be done prior to taking the IFR seminar with AeroCourse. This course provides students with the added value of learning the core IFR information prior to attending the IFR seminar. It allows for the more difficult concepts to be covered to help students gain the most from the seminar.
The online course takes approximately 4-6 hours and guides you step-by-step through the Canada Air Pilot approach plates and the more complicated procedures of IFR flight. When you sign-up, a user name is emailed to you (within 24 hours Monday to Friday) that allows you access to the program online . The online course is broken up into modules, with each having to be completed in order to move onto the next module. Each lesson is made available to review a total of two times. You have 60 days to work through and complete the online program and once you have completed it, you will have a good understanding of the basic IFR material and be better prepared for the IFR in-class seminar.
The online Procedures Course will be included when you purchase the Aero Course IFR seminar or it can be purchased separately to enhance your IFR knowledge. For more information regarding the online course please see the online IFR Procedures Course page.

Registration
To register for an IFR course, either register online by selecting the dates you are interested in on the right hand side bar or call our toll-free line (in Canada and U.S. 1-800-461-8857). The cost of the IFR course is $490. You are also required to have an up-to-date IFR workbook which can be purchased at the time of registration. The IFR workbook is available, when you register for a course, at a discounted rate of $56.67 (suggested retail is $65.95) plus GST and shipping. There are also recommended reference materials for the course, especially an up-to-date AIM manual, which can also be purchased at the same time. When you register for the course and purchase the workbook or AIM manual we will express post them to you for $10 for one book and $13 for two books plus GST (please allow a week for delivery).
If, for some unforeseen reason, you are unable to attend the course, your payment is transferable to another date provided notification is received 48 hours in advance of course commencement. A non-refundable $150 deposit will be retained and held on file for one year from original registration for onhold registrations, while you select a new course date. Method of payment includes VISA, Mastercard, or cheque. If you do not cancel your registration or reschedule, you are responsible for the full payment of the course. Course fees are non-refundable.
AeroCourse guarantee
We hope everyone feels prepared and passes their exam after course completion. However, if a student takes the exam within three months of taking the course and does not pass, AeroCourse will allow a course to be re-taken for no additional charge within one year of the original course date. The student must fax or email the Transport Canada exam results to AeroCourse to register for a course at no charge. If within the first three months after the original course a student feels they are not ready to write the exams, they can retake the course for a nominal fee. After three months, the re-take fee for the course is half price from the current course fee for a period of five years from the original course date. Any time a new workbook is required there will be charge for the workbook.
Course cancellation
All courses are subject to cancellation. AeroCourse cannot be held responsible for any costs incurred by persons attending a course. In the event a seminar is cancelled by AeroCourse, all course fees will be refunded or transferred to other course dates.
Receipts
Tax receipts and course certificates are sent out after the course is complete - usually within a couple of weeks. Please notify our office of any address changes.
Parking
We do our best to find facilities that have free parking, however some facilities have paid parking only. You may want to check with the facility personnel to determine parking fees.
